Portrait of Annika Bacher

Annika Bacher is Assistant Professor of Economics at the BI Norwegian Business School. She obtained her PhD in Economics in 2022 from the European University Institute (EUI).

Her main research interests are quantitative macroeconomics, in particular household finance, labour markets, and family economics. Although she is in the early stages her academic career, her work has already been honoured. She received her first grant last year from the Finansmarkedsfondet for her project Gender Gaps in Credit Access and Women’s Entrepreneurial Choices. She received the Vilfredo Pareto Prize for the Best Thesis in Economics (EUI) in 2022 and in 2023 she was the recipient of the 13th UniCredit Award on Best Paper in Gender Economics.
