Mauricio Olivares is Assistant Professor at the Statistics and Econometrics Group in the Statistics Department of the Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität (LMU) Munich since 2022. He obtained a PhD in Economics from the University of Illinois Urbana Champaign (UIUC) and was awarded a Postdoctoral Research Fellowship at University College London (UCL).
His main research interest is in econometrics, in particular permutation-based inference, high-dimensional bootstrap approximations, and causal inference.
He will present a paper at the next Friday Seminar on the topic:
Specification Testing for Latent Variable Models (paper to follow)
The next Friday Seminar will host Milan Van Steenvoort (Visiting PhD candidate, University of Namur) on March 20th.
