Maria Petrova is Full Professor of Economics and an ICREA Research Professor at Universitat Pompeu Fabra (UPF), an Affiliate Research Professor of the Barcelona School of Economics (BSE), and a Researcher at the Institute for Political Economy and Governance (IPEG). She is a Fellow of the Econometric Society and a Research Fellow of the Centre for Economic Policy Research (CEPR).
She is an applied microeconomist whose research focuses on Information Economics and Political Economy. She publishes regularly in the top-tier international reviews. She recently completed a 5-year project that received support a prestigious starting grant from the European Research Council (ERC) The Rise and Fall of Populism and Extremism - EXTREME and is working on Europa Excelencia project with the support of the Spanish Agencia Estatal de Investigación.
She will present a paper at this exceptional joint Applied Microecnomics and PEPES Seminar on the topic:
