Moritz Kuhn is Professor of Economics at the University of Mannheim. He is also Vice Chairman of the Scientific Advisory Council at the Institute for Employment Research (IAB), a Member of the Collaborative Research Center Transregio 224 Economic Perspectives on Societal Challenges, a Research Fellow at the Centre of Economic Policy Research (CEPR), at the Institute of Labor Economics (IZA), and at the CESIfo in Munich. Among his editorial duties, he is an associate editor at Macroeconomic Dynamics.
His research focuses on macroeconomics with focus on labour markets, the causes and consequences of income and wealth inequality, and the design and effects of economic policies. He publishes regularly in top-tier international journals and his work has benefitted from important grants notably from the DFG. He is currently working on three projects: two DFG projects - The Macroeconomic Effects of Changes in the Organization of Production (with Christian Bayer) and Causes of Portfolio Heterogeneity - as well as Wealth Inequality: Attitudes, Opportunities, and Behavior (with Mark Wright), funded by the Volkswagen Foundation.
He will present a paper, joint with Leanne Nam and Gasper Ploj, at the next Departmental Seminar on the topic:
