Departmental Seminar with Jonathan Parker (MIT)

Jonathan Parker is the Robert C. Merton (1970) Professor of Financial Economics at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology's Sloan School of Management (MIT Sloan) and Codirector of the MIT Sloan Consumer Finance Initiative. He is also a Research Associate at the National Bureau of Economic Research (NBER) and an economic adviser for the Congressional Budget Office. Among his editorial duties, he is the Coeditor of the Journal of Economic Perspectives. He is a CoDirector Emeritus at the MIT Golub Center for Finance and Policy.

An expert in finance, macroeconomics, and household behaviour, he has published widely on topics such as macroeconomic risks and asset returns, household financial decisions, fiscal stabilisation policy, national saving, the measurement of business cycles, and modelling human economic behaviour.
