Portrait of Jessie Handbury

Jessie Handbury is the Gilbert and Shelley Harrison Associate Professor at the University of Pennsylvania's Wharton School (Wharton UPenn). She is also a Faculty Research Fellow at the National Bureau of Economic Research (NBER), a Penn Institute for Urban Research (IUR) Faculty Fellow, and a Hoyt Academic Fellow. Among her editorial duties, she is Associate Editor of the Review of Economic Statistics and a member of the Editorial Board of the Journal of Urban Economics, the Journal of Housing Economics, and of the Journal of Economic Geography.

Her research interests lie at the intersection of urban economics, intranational trade, and industrial organisation. Her research has been published in the Review of Economic Studies, the Quarterly Journal of Economics, and the Journal of Urban Economics.
