Portrait of Angélique Acquatella

Angelique Acquatella is Assistant Professor at the Toulouse School of Economics (TSE). She is also a Technology & Policy Research Initiative Fellow at the Boston University School of Law and a Visiting Researcher at the  Institute for Quantitative Social Science at Harvard University. Prior to joining TSE in 2023, she was a Postdoctoral Fellow at Boston University's Questrom School of Business. She holds a  PhD in Economics from Harvard University.

She is a specialist in health economics. Her research studies the optimal design of health care policy, with two main substantive areas: public health insurance systems and pharmaceutical payment policy. She is interested in policy designs that (1) advance health equity, (2) minimize risk for the most disadvantaged individuals, and (3) incentivize socially valuable investments. Her work falls at the intersection of health economics and public finance, combining methods from optimal tax theory with traditional cost-effectiveness analysis in health economics.
