Lassi Ahlvik is Professor of Environmental Economics at the University of Helsinki and the Helsinki Graduate School of Economics. He also is Adjunct Professor in Resource Economics at the University of Stavanger. He is a Research Affiliate of the Centre for Economic Policy Research (CEPR) and he sits on the Finnish Climate Change Panel.
His research deals broadly with environmental cost-benefit analysis and optimal climate policy design. Published regularly in the top-tier international journals, he is the recipient of an important European Research Council (ERC) Starting Grant for his 4-year project Green Tax Reform for a Just Climate Transition (GRETA). He recently started a new project this year Using smart contracts and policies to reduce energy-related risk and inequality among households (ENERPOL) which has received the support of the European Union's Maria Skłodowska-Curie Actions (MSCA) programme.
He will present a paper, joint with Rufus Panelius, at the next Applied Microeconomics Seminar on the topic:
