Portrait of Farzad Saidi

Farzad Saidi is Professor of Financial Economics at the University of Bonn, since 2021. Prior to moving to the University of Bonn, he served as a faculty member at Boston University, Stockholm School of Economics, and University of Cambridge. He is also a Research Professor at the Halle Institute for Economic Research (IWH) since 2022, a Research Fellow at the Centre for Economic Policy Research (CEPR), a Fellow at the Kiel Institute for the World Economy (IfW), an Academic Consultant for the Bank of England's Monetary and Financial Conditions Division, as well as a  Member of the Committee on Monetary Theory and Policy (German Economic Association).

Farzad is a financial economist. His research is centered on issues in banking and financial intermediation, monetary policy, corporate finance and the interplay between labour and finance. He is currently the Principal Investigator of the Cluster of Excellence ECONtribute: Markets & Public Policy and of the Collaborative Research Center TR 224 Economic Perspectives on Societal Challenges (EPoS) Bonn-Mannheim. He is the recipient of numerous teaching awards and his research has been regularly supported by Nasdaq Nordic Foundation grants and by central banks (Bank of Sweden Tercentenary Foundation and Fondation Banque de France).
