Erika Deserranno is Associate Professor of Economics at Bocconi University since 2023 and Visiting Associate Professor of Managerial Economics and Decision Sciences at the Kellogg School of Management of Northwestern University. She is also a Research Affiliate at the Bureau for Research and Economic Analysis of Development (BREAD), the Centre for Economic Policy Research (CEPR), the Abdul Latif Jameel Poverty Action Lab (J-PAL), the International Growth Centre (IGC), the Innovations for Poverty Action (IPA), BAFFI FINAFRICA as well as a Faculty Affiliate at Innocenzo Gasparini Institute for Economic Research (IGIER), Laboratory for Effective Anti-Poverty Policies (LEAP), the Global Poverty Research Lab (GPRL).
Her research interests lie at the intersection between development and personnel economics. She work on issues related to the selection, recruitment and motivation of workers both in private and public organisations. Her work has received multiple grants, notably an ERC Starting grant in 2023 for her project Digitalization of Public Service Delivery and Inclusive Development (DIGIDEV), as well as research and teaching awards.
She will present a paper, joint with Decio Coviello and Nicola Persico, at the next Applied Microeconomics Seminar on the topic:
Gender Disparities in the Welfare Effect of the Minimum Wage (read paper)
