Jorgen Weibull

Jörgen WEIBULL is A.O. Wallenberg Professor of Economics at the Stockholm School of Economics (SSE) since 1995. He is also an Associate Faculty Member at the Toulouse School of Economics (TSE) since 2013.

Professor emeritus at SSE and Honorary doctor at the Swedish School of Economics (in Helsinki), Jörgen Weibull has been awarded a number of honours over the years. He is notably Fellow of the European Economic Association, Fellow of the Econometric Society, and a Member of the Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences. He was the recipient of the Torsten and Ragnar Söderberg Prize in Economic Science.

His main research area is economic theory and game theory, both pure theory and applications. The applications span a wide range of topics including political economy, industrial economics, information economics, behavioural economics, evolutionary theory, and some experimental game theory.
