Swati Dhingra

Swati DHINGRA is currently on leave of Public Service at the Bank of England where she is an External Member of the Monetary Policy Committee from 2022 to 2025. She is Associate Professor of Economics at the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE). She is also a Research Associate at the Centre for Economic Performance (CEP) and a Research Fellow at the Centre for Economic Policy Research (CEPR). Among her editorial duties she is the Elected Director of the Review of Economic Studies. She is an Elected Member of Council of the Royal Economic Society.

Her research interests are international economics, globalization and industrial policy. Her current areas of research include the impact of trade agreements, firms in international trade, and industrial development in India. She was awarded an ERC Starting Grant in 2017 for her project Market Power and Firm Growth in the Global Economy (BIGlobal).
