Francesco Decarolis

Francesco DECAROLIS is Full Professor of Economics at Bocconi University. He is also a Research Affiliate at the Centre for Economic Policy Research (CEPR). Among his editorial duties, he is associate editor of The Review of Economic Studies and of the Journal of the European Economic Association. He is a board member of the Association for Competition Economics and a member of the Executive Committee of European Association for Research in Industrial Economics.

He has held various advisory roles over the past 15 years for different public bodies including the European Commission, the Italian Presidency of the Council of Ministers, the Italian Antitrust Authority and the Milan Court of Justice.

His area of research is industrial organisation and he mostly works on topics in competition economics, antitrust, market design, public procurement and the regulation of digital platforms. Since August 2021, he is the Coordinator of the European Research Council (ERC) Consolidator grant Competition in Digital Markets.
