Biography

Vicente Cuñat is Professor of Finance at the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE). He is also a Research Associate at the Centre for Economic Policy Research (CEPR) and the European Corporate Governance Institute (ECGI). Among his editorial duties, he is Associate Editor of the Journal of Corporate Finance and the Journal of Finance, and is an Editorial Board member of the Universia Business Review and the Spanish Review of Financial Economics. From 2020 to 2022 he was the President of the Spanish Economic Association, of which he was made an Honorary Fellow in 2016.

His research interests include corporate finance, applied theory, applied econometrics, industrial organization, and labour and personnel economics. Regularly published in the top tier general and specialised economic journals, Vicente Cuñat’s work has been distinguished a number of times: he was - notably - the 2019 recipient of the Review of Corporate Finance StudiesBest Paper Award, the 2012 Brattle Prize awarded by the Journal of Finance, as well as the 2002 Young Economist Award awarded by the European Finance Association. He has participated in a number of funded research projects and and was notably the lead researcher of the AXA Research Programme on Risk Management and Regulation of Financial Institutions.
