Biography
Giulia Caprini joined the Department in September 2025 as an Assistant Professor (tenure track) after spending a year as Prize Postdoctoral Research Fellow in Economics at Nuffield College at Oxford University. She is also a Research Affiliate at the Centro Nazionale Trapianti.
She is an applied microeconomist. She studies, in particular, the social impact of media contents, through non-verbal language. Her research interests lie at the intersection of political economy, health, behavioural and cognitive economics.
Her work has already garnered recognition: she was awarded the Best Paper of the 2022 European Job Market for her work Visual Bias, by the European Economic Association (EEA) and Unicredit. And her doctoral dissertation, which she defended at the European University Institute (EUI), was awarded the 2022 Vilfredo Pareto Prize for best PhD thesis in Economics.
She also holds a Master of Science in Economics and Social Sciences from Bocconi University.
