Two-Year Master's Programmes at Sciences Po, Domestic Graduate Procedure: selection criteria
Admission is granted on the basis of the evaluation of the application file and the required documents. We assess the applicant's academic level, motivation, career goals, relevant experiences, and personal background. We also consider the alignment between the applicant’s profile and the programme’s curriculum.
Several criteria are taken into account during the selection process.
The applicant’s prior academic record is subject to thorough evaluation, and the results achieved constitute critical criteria in the selection process for our prospective students.
You will be required to indicate the grade average of all your previous higher education studies.
While there is no formal minimum grade requirement for admission, candidates applying to our two-years master's programmes through the domestic procedure are strongly encouraged to present a solid academic record.
- A grade average of 14/20 for the undergraduate studies is recommended.
- For applicants coming from Classes Préparatoires aux Grandes Écoles (CPGE), a minimum average of 10/20 is considered acceptable, given the specific academic rigor of these programs.
These grade levels are not strict prerequisites, but they reflect the level of academic excellence we expect from prospective students.
Please note that no academic average guarantees admission, as the assessment is holistic, taking into account all materials submitted by the candidate.
References are mandatory and carry a lot of weight in the assessment of your application. The choice of referees is essential. Before starting your application, please read carefully the instructions to select the right referees and contact them beforehand.
The adequacy between the applicant's career plans and the requested programme is evaluated in order to ensure that the prospective student stands to gain the most from it.
Applicants must express a precise idea of the professional field that they are aiming for, what aspects of the programme they find attractive and explain how it fits their career plans.
It is also important that they demonstrate their willingness to be an integral part of the student community of both institutions.
