Graduate Admissions: Application File
Incomplete applications will not be taken into consideration. In order to ensure that your application is processed, it is your responsibility to make sure that it is complete and that all required supporting documents are attached. You must submit your application by the earliest deadline of the selected programmes (or by the deadline of the Boutmy, Eiffel or Mastercard scholarship, if applicable).

Complete the fields in your application
You will be required to provide a certain amount of information. Several sections must be completed, including:
- Personal information : Id details
- Contact information : addresses, emergency contact, etc.
- Academic background
In this section, you must enter information for each academic programme/institution in which you have studied. They should be listed in chronological order, starting from most recent to oldest.
You will be required to do the same with your academic exchange programmes. Please note that dual degree programmes should not be entered in the “academic exchange programmes” section.
For each academic programme/institution, please make sure to give us the following information:
- Name of the degree : specify if it is a Bachelor's, Master's, or PhD degree, before indicating the name of degree
- If you withdrew from this programme, please specify it
- If it is a dual degree, please specify it as well
Example: Bachelor in Social Sciences and Humanities – DD – withdrawn after Semester 1
- Type of study
- Specialization
- Language of study
- Programmes start/end dates. If you are currently enrolled in an academic program that is not yet completed, please specify your expected date of graduation.
- Include your average grade
- State whether you have already obtained the corresponding diploma (If you are enrolled in a non-degree program—such as CPGE—you must indicate “no”)
- Name of institution, country, town of the institution.
We require two academic references (except for the one-year master’s programmes and the Master in urban planning). Please follow the instructions to choose and declare your referees and allow them to fill in the dedicated form.
- Professional background
Please indicate and describe ALL of your past and/or ongoing work experience of more than one month (professional experience and internships included). Do not include any volunteering or charity work here; those experiences can be added in the “Personal background” section. If you are currently working or doing an internship and your contract runs beyond next summer, enter September 1st of the current year in the “Professional experience” section.
For some programmes, professional recommendations are mandatory. Please follow the instructions to choose and declare your referees and allow them to fill in the dedicated form.

Language requirements depend on the programme to which you are applying. When needed, test results must be attached directly into the online application. Should the language proof of proficiency be missing by the deadline of the selected programme, your application will not be taken into consideration.
If you are applying to two programmes with different requirements, you must meet the highest level required.
- Personal statement
Write your motivation letter (or 2 letters if you’re applying for 2 programmes), in the dedicated section of your online application.
Make sure you write your letter in the language requested for the programme.
Applications that do not meet this requirement will be deemed incomplete and will not be considered for evaluation

Upload the following documents
For all programmes you must upload the following documents (in PDF format less than 2Mo) in your application file. Make sure each document is in the required language.
If your documents are not in the required language, please send them in the original language and provide a translation (which can be made by the candidate). Please translate them into English or French depending on the programme you are applying for.
- an ID : passport, National ID or residence permit
- CV/Résumé
- Academic transcript(s) for the entirety of your time in higher education. Acceptable formats include scanned copies of paper transcripts produced by the institution, electronic transcripts produced by the institution, and web-based academic records produced by the institution and containing your name and the name of the institution. The Admissions Office reserves the right to request official transcripts at any time during the application process.
Please provide us with proof of enrollment for the current academic year if you are not able to provide an academic transcript AND you are enrolled in a higher education institution.
- Academic transcripts for the semesters spent abroad on exchange programmes during your time in higher education. If you have completed an exchange and did not obtain grades during this period, please attach a certificate of attendance from the host institution.
- If your academic transcripts or your proof of enrollment are not in the required language, please send it in the original language and provide a translation (which can be made by the candidate). Please translate it into English or French depending on the programme you are applying for.
- If you already hold the degree: a copy of the diploma that qualifies you to apply through this procedure.
- Language Test scores (where applicable)
- Your grade average (and your graduate grade average if applicable). Please provide one certificate per degree and/or institution attended.
- For some programmes, additional documents may be required (e.g. GRE, GMAT, a copy of your law degree...)
Additional required documents depending on your profile
If you are currently enrolled as a khûbe student, please upload a proof of enrollment at the university (not at a CPGE). Should you be admitted, you will be required to provide official proof of equivalence for 180 ECTS credits at the time of administrative registration. All detailed academic transcripts from your CPGE studies must be submitted. A certificate indicating only letter grades (A/B/C) is insufficient and will not be accepted.
Make sure to provide a certificate of your “établissement conventionné”.

Please attach the "attestation définitive" of the current academic year. The conditional attestation will not be accepted.
- Proof of income (or lack thereof) demonstrating your financial circumstances: tax documents and/or income statements; scholarship certificates; or any other legal document attesting to your financial situation. You must submit at least one document with your application. Bank statements will not be accepted.
- If you are currently receiving a scholarship (from the Mastercard Foundation or another funding body), or have received one in the past, please also attach the scholarship certificate.
- Proof of current or past enrolment at one of Sciences Po’s institutions of reference.

Please consult the Accessibility page to find out which supporting documents may be required if you wish to request special exam accommodations. Additionally, to be eligible for an exemption from the application fee, you must be able to provide one of the following valid documents:
- RQTH,
- Allocation Adulte Handicapé,
- Carte "Mobilité Inclusion" portant la mention "Invalidité",
- Allocation Éducation Enfant Handicapé.
Kindly provide an official certificate verifying your inclusion on the French ministry’s official list (liste ministérielle)
Please do not overload your application with non-requested documents. Should you decide to submit optional or non-required documents, please do so judiciously and sparingly, ensuring that they enhance—rather than dilute—the key strengths of your application.
We only take into account the compulsory documents included in the application when it is ready for the first assessment. We will not take into account supporting documents provided later on (transcripts obtained at the end of the year, for example), unless we have specifically requested them.
