Question:
May I add or delete a referee from my application form?
Réponse:

Yes, you may delete or add a referee as long as your application has not been submitted.

In your application form, go into the academic background section and click on the check box which appears on the right of the referee from whom a reference is pending. A pop up box will appear with the question :"Are you sure you want to suppress this reference?" If yes, please accept. You will then be able to add a new referee

Make sure you inform your referee ahead of your request, as an automatic notification email will be sent once you provide their contact information.

Question:
May I send more than two professional references to apply to a one-year master's programme ?
Réponse:

Yes, you may send up to three professional references. The academic references are not mandatory but appreciated.

Question:
Do the referees need to fill the form or may they send a letter by email?
Réponse:

We do not accept reference letters sent by email.

The referees need to fill the online form. However, in the event that your referees cannot complete the online referee form, and subject to this stipulation only, they must contact us and we will send them the form in Word format. They must then complete it and send it back to us directly through our contact form (confidentially and from a professional email address).

Question:
How do my referees receive the form to fill out?
Réponse:

Once you have filled in (and saved) your referees' contact information on the online application, an e-mail will be sent automatically inviting them to complete an online recommendation form.

We therefore recommend that you make arrangements with your referees beforehand and make sure that they will be able to respond to your request to fill out the recommendation form sent by Sciences Po. Bear in mind that your referees receive many such requests.

Make sure your referees know when the reference is due and in which language they must write it. If they don't use the required language, your application will be considered incomplete and will not be processed.

If you are applying to a dual degree programme, the references must be written in English.

Be sure your referees know that the reference must be completed online. The quality of your file depends on it. If you are applying to both a Master's programme and to a dual degree programme, the references must be written in English. It is your responsibility to make sure they have received the email asking them to complete the reference form.

Question:
May I submit my application with a missing reference?
Réponse:

No, you must make sure your referees have completed their forms before submitting your application. Keep in mind your application must be complete, including the references, by the programme's or scholarship's deadline.

Question:
May I read the references submitted by my referees?
Réponse:

No, applicants are not allowed to read references. They are strictly confidential and will only be read by the assessors of your application.

Question:
In what language do the references need to be written?
Réponse:

For Sciences Po Master's programmes: Reference forms must be completed in French or English (unless otherwise instructed).

For dual degree programmes, they must be written in English (unless otherwise instructed).

If you apply to both a master's programme and a dual degree programme, they must be written in English (unless otherwise instructed).
