60 ago...the March on Washington for Civil Rights

On August 28, 1963, the "March on Washington for Jobs and Freedom" brought together more than 200,000 people. Speaking last, Martin Luther King delivers his famous "I have a dream" speech.

To mark the 60th anniversary of the March on Washington for Civil Rights on August 28, 1963, the Library is highlighting its digitized press files on the political and social conditions of Blacks in the USA during the 1960s.
