The key figures of research at Sciences Po
Increasing from 40.7 million to 60.7 million euros between 2007 and 2015, the budget devoted to research has grown by over 40% . It currently accounts for 36% of Sciences Po’s total budget.

Internal funding of research projects
Since 2008, a share of Sciences Po’s own resources for research has been allocated through a call for proposals organized by the scientific leadership. An external board (the Scientific Advisory Board), consisting of academics outside of Sciences Po, selects the projects. The incubator role that this system aims to play has achieved its purpose, as several selected projects succeeded in later securing substantial external funding: ERC, ANR, national Investments for the Future Programme.
Between 2007 and 2015 Sciences Po achieved a six-fold increase in total contract resources devoted to funding research, which increased from 1.16 millions to 8.88 millions euros.
Funds from the European Commission saw particularly strong growth, increasing almost nine fold - from 300,000 euros in 2007 to 2,400,000 euros in 2015, thanks to Sciences Po’s mission of support for research projects.
