A team of Sciences Po students — Marta Antunes, Agathe Blanquet, Michael Gillesberger, Cosimo Zatti and Xinpei Zhou — participated in the first EIB Climate Survey Hackathon, where they explored how media environments shape public support for green investment in Europe. Their project, Media Environment and Climate Knowledge as Drivers of Public Support for Green Investment in Europe, investigates how independent and diverse media systems, together with citizens’ ability to recognise misinformation, influence climate knowledge and willingness to finance climate action. Using data from the EIB Climate Survey and external European indices, the team provides evidence that better-informed societies are more likely to support ambitious climate policies
