Defeated by the British colonial troops in less than two weeks during the Third Anglo-Burmese War (November 1885), he was deposed and exiled to Ratnagiri, on the western Indian coast, where he died in 1916. Thibaw and his Queen, Supalayat, were the last monarchs of Burma’s Konbaung Dynasty (1752-1885)
