Debos Marielle Son of an explorer of Central Africa (Jean-Victor Largeau), he joined the colonial army at the age of 18. In 1902, he arrived in Chad as commander of the ‘military territory’ and took part in the conquest of the north of the country. He was promoted to colonel when he succeeded Colonel Moll, killed during clashes with the Massalit forces in 1910. In particular, he was in command of the extremely violent battles against the Sanussiyya. He died at Verdun in 1916.
