Bio :

Agnès van Zanten is a sociologist, director of research CNRS at CRIS (Centre de Recherche sur les Inégalités Sociales), and co-director of the LIEPP Research Group, "Educational Policies" until December 2018.

Her research interests include school choice, parental strategies, the production of educational segregation and inequalities, internal and external dynamics of schools, the teaching profession, and local educational policies. She also works on cross-national comparisons of educational systems and policies, and on regulation of European educational systems and the production of inequalities.

Her researches have been awarded : Docteur Honoris Causa by the University of Turku (Finland) and Docteur Honoris Causa by the University of Geneva (Switzerland). She also received the CNRS silver medal in 2017.
