Growing up in a country marked by persistent discrimination and inequality shaped my commitment to contributing to more just and peaceful societies. After moving to France at the age of 18, I sought to translate these convictions into action through my studies, professional experiences, and volunteer work. 

Pursuing the Advanced Certification in Gender Studies alongside my Master’s at the Sciences Po School of Research was therefore a natural extension of this path. 

I particularly enjoyed Professor Virginie Dutoya’s course, “Gender: a Global Perspective”. As its title suggests, it offers a comprehensive overview of gender-related issues across a wide range of disciplines, contexts, and actors. One of its greatest strengths is its effort to decenter gender studies from predominantly Western frameworks by introducing perspectives from the Global South. 

I also appreciated the diversity of the cohort, whose personal experiences and fieldwork enriched our discussions and enabled each session to connect theory with lived realities. 

My long-term goal is to join the United Nations as a Human Rights Officer, with a particular focus on gender equality and migration issues. At this stage, I am seeking positions within organizations that would provide me with first-hand field exposure, while also remaining open to opportunities within the UN system. 

My time at Sciences Po has played a crucial role in preparing me for this path, equipping me with valuable knowledge and skills while allowing me to explore different institutional environments through my work with Plan International France, the French Ombudsman, and the UNDP Istanbul Regional Hub. Moreover, it has encouraged me to further develop my interests in areas such as the intersections between gender and climate change, as well as queer studies.
