This talk is part of Cyborg Seminar Series on law and technology organised for >Sciences Po Law School’s "Towards A New Digital Rule of Law" Project.

Hugo RuggieriLegal practitioners increasingly make use of AI-driven platforms for research, drafting, filing and decision-making. Yet, the technology behind such tools is often invisible to the naked eye. On December 5th, Sciences Po Law School is hosting alumnus Hugo Ruggieri for a discussion on his work as general counsel and data protection officer at the French legal intelligence platform Doctrine. In conversation with Beatriz Botero Arcila and Ayse Gizem Yasar, Ruggieri will provide a close-up look at the technologies behind Doctrine and how legal intelligence platforms are changing the legal professional landscape. He will also share insights on regulatory compliance, in particular with the EU’s General Data Protection Regulation and the draft AI Act.

Hugo Ruggieri is general counsel and data protection officer at Doctrine. He graduated from Sciences Po’s Innovation Law Master 2 program in 2016, from Université Paris 1 Panthéon Sorbonne’s Digital Economy Law Master 2 program in 2017 and passed the Paris Bar in 2018. He has also held teaching positions on law and technology and intellectual property at various universities in France.

This event is open to all and will take place in hybrid mode. Zoom link will be shared closer to the event.
