EuclydesFillipe Euclydes is a PhD student in Public Administration and Government at the Getulio Vargas Foudation (FGV-SP), Brazil. He holds a master’s degree in Public Administration at the Federal University of Viçosa (UFV) and was awarded the best master thesis by the Brazilian Society of Public Administration (2019), and the best work in the V Brazilian Meeting of Public Administration (2018). Currently, he is researcher at the Center for Studies in Public Administration and Government (CEAPG-FGV) and member of the Bureaucracy Studies Center (NEB-FGV).

Research interests

Fillipe Euclydes conducts studies in the following themes: socio-environmental conflicts; contentious policies; policy instruments and disaster governance.

Research project pursued at the CEE

During his visiting period, under the Charlotte Halpern’s supervision, Fillipe Euclydes will be part of CEE research groups related to policy state and urban/territorial governance. He also plans to theoretically improve his dissertation topic analysing the collective actions that emerged after a dam collapse in 2015, Brazil, considered as one of the most extensive ones, involving mining dams and environmental issues.

Fillipe Eyclydes has used theories of contentious policies to frame and understand the pattern, characteristics, and evolution of those performances.
