ELIPSS data

Since the ELIPSS Panel (Étude Longitudinale par Internet pour les Sciences Sociales) was established in 2012, more than one hundred longitudinal and cross-sectional surveys have been conducted.

Carried out monthly among a representative sample of approximately 3,000 people (as of January 2026) aged 18 and over and living in metropolitan France, these surveys – designed by research teams – cover a wide range of topics across the social sciences and humanities, including sociology, economics, anthropology and political science.

Annual Surveys: A Core Reference for the ELIPSS Panel

The annual surveys collect a wide range of socio-demographic variables, as well as cross-tabulation variables and indicators frequently used in the social sciences and humanities. They provide an essential cross-cutting reference framework for enriching and contextualising all thematic surveys conducted with the panel. They are also an important source of data in their own right, covering a broad range of areas, including political attitudes and behaviour, housing and neighbourhoods, health, and cultural and social practices.

Elections and Political Behaviour

ELIPSS has regularly conducted electoral surveys focusing on political and electoral behaviour, particularly in connection with the 2024 European Parliament elections and French legislative elections. These data can be used to analyse opinions, political attitudes and patterns of electoral participation.

The Covid-19 Pandemic and Its Social Effects

A series of surveys examined the effects of the Covid-19 pandemic on attitudes, practices and living conditions. Conducted in partnership with Sciences Po’s Centre for Research on Social Inequalities (CRIS), these surveys provide a valuable resource for studying the social transformations associated with the health crisis.
