In an unprecedented and turbulent context, the results of the 2020 admissions process show Sciences Po remains highly attractive, with a record number of applications of nearly 22,000. In total, nearly 4,800 new students from 132 countries joined our Undergraduate, Master's and Doctoral programmes, keeping selectivity stable at 22%.

Sciences Po remains a top university in the social sciences in the 2021 QS World University Rankings by subject, keeping its second place worldwide in "Politics & International Studies" for the second year.
In this world ranking released on March 3, 2021, Sciences Po is positioned just behind Harvard university. Sciences Po is the first university in Europe in this discipline, in front of the University of Oxford and the London School of Economics.

The 2020 Graduate Employability Survey asked the Class of 2018 what they were up to now. Their responses reaffirm Sciences Po graduates’ attractivity on the job market, with 9 out of 10 graduates currently working. Amongst them, 86% landed a job less than 6 months after graduating, and ¾ of them in a permanent contract. More and more graduates work abroad (37%), and more and more report being satisfied with their jobs! Discover the full results of our survey below.

Every year, the Admissions Report provides a review of Sciences Po’s applicants and admitted students. This year, it has reconfirmed Sciences Po's global appeal, and that selectivity and student diversity are by no means incompatible.

At Sciences Po, we firmly believe that financial barriers should not get in the way of education. That is why each year we dedicate 10.5 million euros in scholarships and financial aid. Thanks to this proactive social policy, every year we help 4 in 10 students (figures from 2017-2018).

In 2018, for the first time, the number of candidates applying to Sciences Po exceeded the 20,000 mark. Up by 16%, the number of applications shows Sciences Po has an unprecedented appeal, in particular for Master’s programmes where reforms made to the French entry procedures have caused a spike in additional applications. Since 2009, the number of international applications has tripled.

The Times Higher Education World Rankings released its International Student Table 2018, a ranking of the top 200 universities in the world in terms of percentage of international students. Sciences Po comes in at 17th in the world and 1st in France in this ranking, with 44.9% international students of over 150 nationalities in the student body.

The 2017 admissions report confirms Sciences Po’s attractiveness, with nearly 17,000 candidates in total and international students in particular applying in increasing numbers. The success of our Master’s programmes is also underscored with a 6 percent rise in applications to our seven graduate schools.
