Each year, the Claude Erignac Prize is awarded to Sciences Po students involved in community, academic or professional activities. This twelve-year-old partnership perpetuates the memory and the republican and humanist values of prefect Claude Erignac - a Sciences Po alumnus - who was tragically assassinated in February 1998, 26 years ago.

The winner of the 2024 Claude Erignac Prize is Laure Bineaud, a Master 2 student at the School of Public Affairs in the Social Policy and Social Innovation stream, and co-founder and president of Rhiz'homes, an association that aims to change the way young people engage with the elderly. The workshops organised by the association take place both at home, thanks to a partner, the Carrefour des Solidarités of the Foundation Maison des Champs, and in retirement home, thanks to another partner, the EHPAD of the COS Alexandre Glasberg Foundation.

The Rhiz'homes intergenerational project was born out of a collective effort of 6 Sciences Po students, during the 2022 edition of the Challenge Tocqueville. Since then, blind tests, cooking and wheelchair races have enriched the daily lives of the participants. Friendships have been forged between high school students and elderly people who would probably never have had the chance to meet without these workshops.

The Claude Erignac Prize will enable the association to develop its activities, hire civic service volunteers, and invest in more equipment and tools to support activities and intergenerational projects.
