Can you briefly introduce your association?

The Sciences Po Cybersecurity Association (SCA) was founded in 2019 and currently brings together more than 30 students, from the School of Public Affairs and the Paris School of International Affairs, who are passionate about the security of digital technologies in the broadest sense.

The association offers students the opportunity to explore these issues through the prism of public policy and international relations. We are interested, for example, in cyber-espionage, the governance of digital technologies, national digital and cyber strategies, and so on. The association also serves as a platform for meeting professionals in the field.

Every year, we organise conferences, discussions and workshops. Recent conferences have focused on disinformation linked to the Israel-Hamas conflict, the risks of Artificial Intelligence, cyber diplomacy, NATO's cyber defence posture and cyber intelligence.

The association also publishes articles on its website and issues a monthly newsletter summarising the latest news on its subjects and detailing its forthcoming activities.

Any events or projects you'd like to talk about in particular?

Every year, we organise a long treasure hunt in Paris to welcome our new members. Using items hidden both on the internet and in Paris, members have to investigate and solve a series of challenges. The first team to finish wins!

This year, we wanted to open up this activity to all Sciences Po students. We have therefore created a dedicated department and are preparing the first open edition of the game for the spring semester of 2023-2024.

Is there anything you would like to say to students who would like to join you?

The Sciences Po Cybersecurity Association (SCA) is open to all Sciences Po students! It allows you to study the power struggles of the 21st century without having to know anything about IT.

This year, the association is divided into 5 distinct teams: Project, Wargame, Publication, Network and Communication. Every year we welcome new members to the Paris campus.

As of this year, we have two types of member: members who actively contribute to our various projects and students who closely follow our news and discuss our topics.

If you would like to join us, please contact us on our social networks (Instagram, X and LinkedIn) or at our address: communication@scpo-cybersecurityassociation.com.
