2026 QS Ranking: Sciences Po World's 3rd Best University in Politics

According to the 2026 edition of the QS World University Rankings by Subject, Sciences Po has further solidified its international standing and is now ranked as the third best university in the world in the “Politics” category.

In the Top 5 among the best

For the past eight years, the institution has ranked among the top five universities worldwide in this discipline. Coming in just behind Harvard University and the University of Oxford, and just ahead of Princeton University, the London School of Economics and Stanford University, Sciences Po also retains its position as the top university in the European Union for the eleventh consecutive year.

What about the other categories?

Driven by improvements in its academic reputation and employer reputation, Sciences Po ranks in the global top 100 in eight different categories, including:

• Social Policy and Administration: Sciences Po the top university in France in this discipline and ranks 17th globally;
• Sociology: Sciences Po is the first French university in this discipline and maintains its 33rd global ranking;
• Geography: Sciences Po makes its debut in the rankings for this discipline, entering directly at 41st place;
• Law and Legal Studies: Sciences Po climbs up 17 ranks to reach 59th place;
• Economics and Econometrics: Sciences Po moves up 23 spots to reach 84th place.
