LIEPP seminar, organised by the “Evaluation of Democracy” Research Group
Bo Rothstein holds the August Röhss Chair in Political Science at the University of Gothenburg and is co-founder and head of the Quality of Government Institute. He has been a visiting scholar at the Russell Safe Foundation, Collegium Budapest for Advanced Study, Harvard University, University of Washington-Seattle, Cornell University, Stellenbosch Institute for Advanced Study, the Australian National University and Stanford University. His recent books are The Quality of Government: Corruption, Inequality and Social Trust in International Perspective (University of Chicago Press 2011) and the co-edited volume Good Government: The Relevance of Political Science (Edward Elgar 2012). Since 2012 he is a member of the Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences. From January 2016 he will take up a new position as Professor in Government and Public Policy at the Blavatnik School of Government and Professorial Fellow at Nuffield College, Oxford University.
His presentation will discuss a recently published report titled "Quality of Government and Development Policy" that covers research conducted by Professor Rothstein and Marcus Tanneberg of the Quality of Government Institute for the Swedish Government's Expert Group for Aid Studies. His presentation will be discussed by two members of LIEPP's Evaluation of Democracy Research Group, Co-Director Emiliano Grossman (Sciences Po, CEE/LIEPP) and Assistant Professor Quoc-Anh Do (Sciences Po, Dept. of Economics/LIEPP)
