The Transformative Pedagogical Initiatives Division

Comprising the Writing and Rhetoric Centre, the Centre for the Exploration of Controversies and the Cartography Studio, the Transformative Pedagogical Initiatives Division is a place for promoting and developing cross-disciplinary skills in Sciences Po's educational programmes, and where policy is implemented in collaboration with the programme teams, teachers and students. The division also encourages and fosters the incubation of new skills, particularly those related to creativity and sharpening critical thinking.

Our missions

  • Designing teaching resources dedicated to the acquisition of targeted skills, for all university cycles and in continuum with high school programmes;
  • Experimenting with new pedagogies and methods; exploring new tools and goals; renewing pedagogical formats through training and assessment systems adapted to a diverse student population; 
  • Supporting students, teachers and pedagogical teams as they try new teaching methods, offering training so they can attain their goals, and helping targeted programmes transform their practices;
  • Building and disseminating knowledge in close collaboration with the scientific community.
