Propose a Collection
The Fondation nationale des sciences politiques (FNSP) established the Contemporary History Archives service in 1971 to manage documents donated by individuals and entities such as political parties and make them available to researchers. The Archives contain remarkable sources related to the political, economic, social, intellectual, and cultural history of France from the late-19th century to the present.
Proposals to donate an archive collection are considered by the Advisory Board of the Contemporary History Archives.
Arrangements are formalised through a letter of intent from the donor and a letter of acceptance from the FNSP. Mixed collections containing public and private archives are the subject of a tripartite agreement with the Archives Nationales. The collection is then classified according to current standards and made available to researchers in compliance with relevant legislation, particularly the Archives Act of 15 July 2008 (FR).
