Full tuition fee exemption for doctoral students from the academic year 2025-2026

Following the vote of the FNSP Board of Directors on May 21, 2025, the Direction of the School of Research is pleased to announce a major development for our academic community: starting from the 2025-2026 academic year, all doctoral students enrolled at Sciences Po will be exempt from tuition fees between the first and sixth years of their PhD (D1 to D6).

This progress has been made possible thanks to the decisive support of the Director of Sciences Po, working alongside the Secretary General and the continuous, constructive engagement with the Doctoral Collective.

This measure marks a significant shift in our policy to support early-career researchers. In a context of financial constraints, Sciences Po reaffirms its commitment to providing doctoral students with optimal working and study conditions - conditions that are essential to their success and to the production of high-quality academic work. It also recognizes their vital contribution to the intellectual life of the institution, both in research and in teaching.
