Behind the scenes of the exhibition: Sciences Po, une histoire coloniale
Léandre Mandard, a doctoral student at the Centre d'histoire de Sciences Po and former student of the history master's programme, has loaned a number of objects from his personal collection, which you can see in the display case of the ‘Sciences Po, a colonial history’ exhibition. He tells us about his approach and the origin of these items.
Presented for the first time in the showcases of the Sciences Po Library in 2017, and then at the Center of Excellence in French and Francophone Studies at the University of California, Berkeley in 2024, ‘Sciences Po: une histoire coloniale’ is the result of research carried out by history masters students as part of the course on colonial history and colonial education, taught in 2016 by Jakob Vogel and Pap N'Diaye.
The Centre d'histoire de Sciences Po, in collaboration with the Bibliothèque de Sciences Po, is re-publishing this exhibition on its premises from 10 March to 30 June 2025.
To visit the exhibition: CHSP reception hall, 1st floor, building K, campus 1 Saint Thomas d'Aquin. Free admission.
Interview conducted by Emma Albrand, communications officer at the Centre d'histoire. Many thanks to Alice Chabot, audiovisual technician at the Sciences Po Studio, for recording this video.
