[Call for doctoral contracts] Dual culture Sciences Po / Paris Cité University
Context
Paris Cité University and Sciences Po are part of a strategic partnership aimed at developing collaborations to enrich their scientific and educational offerings.
Paris Cité University is also a partner in the ExcellencES TIERED project, coordinated by Sciences Po, which invites the two institutions to share the following objectives:
- To affirm the necessary contribution of the social sciences and humanities to understanding environmental and digital transitions and their political, social, economic, legal and cultural consequences;
- To actively seek complementarities between the social sciences and humanities and other scientific disciplines.
Vacancies
Sciences Po is recruiting two doctoral students on contracts jointly supervised with Paris Cité University. Candidates are strongly encouraged to focus on topics that illustrate the complementarity between the social sciences and humanities and other scientific disciplines.
However, co-supervision in the humanities and social sciences may be possible. In this case, the co-supervisors must be from different disciplines at Sciences Po and Paris Cité University.
Applications must be for one of the five doctoral programmes offered at Sciences Po: law, economics, history, political science or sociology. Doctoral students will be hosted in one of the ten research centres at Sciences Po. They will receive appropriate training in this structure as well as at the Sciences Po Research School.
Successful candidates will be offered a full-time contract for a period of 36 months.
The contract start date is: September 2026.
Requirements
We are looking for motivated researchers with a master's degree in law, economics, history, political science or sociology, who have excellent empirical and theoretical skills and enjoy working in a team.
Additional training in the scientific fields covered by the joint supervision with Paris Cité University may be beneficial depending on the research topic.
Fluency in English is essential.
