This talk will take place at Sciences Po on 19 May 2025, as part of the Eleventh Sciences Po Graduate Political Theory Conference (FR). This year's conference theme, “Ethics and Politics”, explores the relationship between moral imperatives and political structures in contemporary societies.
A discussion will follow the lecture, with Réjane Sénac, CNRS Research Director at the Centre for Political Research, member of the Gender Studies Programme, and Head of the Political Science Department at Sciences Po, and Jérôme Viala-Gaudefroy, PhD in American Studies, lecturer at Sciences Po.
Nancy Fraser will be joining remotely for this lecture.
Nancy Fraser is the Henry and Louise A. Loeb Professor of Philosophy and Politics at the New School for Social Research, and a member of the Editorial Committee of New Left Review. Trained as a philosopher, she specialises in critical social theory and political philosophy. Widely known for her work on the relationship between redistribution and recognition in the theory of justice, she now works on the relationship between capitalism and racial oppression, social reproduction, ecological crisis, feminist movements, and the rise of right-wing populism.
