Information for the spring semester: launch of a new series of "nocturnal" on Thursdays

Dear all,

Our semester 2020-2021 is just beginning and we hope that you have been able to recharge your batteries during the break.

While we are all busy preparing for the start of the first classes of the year, I would like to take this opportunity to announce the launch of a new series of "nocturnal" discussions and dialogues at the School, which will take place on Thursdays starting at 7:15 pm.

We have arranged for the entire student community at the School to be free of any other commitments that evening, so that all of you, students and teachers, can attend. This series will include the events you already know, "#FutursPluriels" and "les rendez-vous de la création", as well as new events on other topics related to finance, economics, management, innovation, creativity, human resources and many other topics that are important to us. Thursday's events will be open to the entire Sciences Po community and to external participants who may be interested - students and lecturers from the School will of course be given priority.

For our keynote session on Thursday, January 28, 2021, from 7:15 to 9:15 pm, Philippe Aghion, Professor at the Collège de France, where he leads the Chair of Innovation, will talk about "Innovation and Creative Destruction". He will be joined by the European Investment Bank, who will talk about financing green innovation. Innovation, creation: this introductory theme is symbolic, not only because "innovation" is at the core of the School's value proposition, but also because we are preparing a redesign of the School's common courses based on a practical, holistic, multifaceted "Data and Digital" curriculum.

Philippe Aghion has kindly agreed to sponsor this initiative and we are proud of this partnership. I warmly encourage you to attend this major event. I wish you all a successful start to the semester and a new year 2021 filled with joy and success.

We know that resilience will be the key word in the weeks and months ahead, and we are committed to being by your side, day in and day out.

Natacha Valla, Dean
