Researcher in Urban Studies

His research focuses on urban policies, local development, metropolises (in the institutional sense), territorial transformations, inequalities and segregation. He works in Milan for public research centres and the Department of Architecture and Urban Studies of the Polytechnic. He was a visiting doctoral student and then a research associate at the CEE of Sciences Po.

He recently co-edited the collective work Ricomporre i divari published in 2021 by "il Mulino". His recent publications include articles on the metropolitan social geography of Italian cities (research project coordinated by Tommaso Vitale, professor of sociology at CEE), and a book chapter on regulatory instruments in urban and territorial planning (edited by Marco Cremaschi, professor of urban planning at CEE).

He has also taught in the Master of Urban Planning at the Polytechnic of Milan and in the Executive Master "Real Estate Strategy and Finance" at Sciences Po. He has been invited to give lectures in the field of urban policies for undergraduate programmes in political science and management.

His PhD thesis, defended in 2017 at the Gran Sasso Science Institute - GSSI (L'Aquila), won the "Giovanni Ferraro" Prize for theses in urban planning, awarded by the Italian Scientific Association of Planners and several Italian academic centres.
