L’ADE, the association for the debate in economics of the students of Sciences Po, is hosting its first conference of this year. The discussion will be held on the theme « Weaponization of the Economy : historical perspectives and current policies ». A large part will be dedicated to questions from the students and the first part will introduce all the concepts of the economics of sanctions. Our 3 distinguished panelists come from diverse backgrounds from academia to policymaking. 

Hélène Dantoine is Head of Economic Diplomacy at the Europe and Foreign Affairs Ministry. Previously, she worked at the Government Shareholding Agency, Total and l’Inspection Générale des Finances.

Sergei Guriev is Provost and Professor at Sciences Po. Previously, he worked as Chief Economist at the EBRD and rector of the New School of Economics. 

Alexandre Kateb is chairman and founder of The Multipolarity Report, professor at Sciences Po and policy advisor. Previously, he worked in several institutions, including as Chief Economist at Exane and Banking supervisor at ACPR.
