Antonio Marzal

Toni Marzal is currently a lecturer (maître de conférences) at the Sorbonne Law School, where he directs the dual degree in Spanish and French law. Before joining Sorbonne, he was a Max Weber Postdoctoral Fellow at the European University Institute, a Visiting Researcher at Harvard and Columbia Law Schools, and completed his doctorate at the Sorbonne in Paris. Originally he had been trained as a lawyer in Spain. His academic work focuses on the principle of proportionality and legal reasoning, EU law and conflict of laws, and on the existence of legal cultures specific to supranational or transnational settings.
