Project description
While there is a significant amount of work on the gender pay gap, there is less on the entertainment industry. Here, we propose to study this phenomenon for entertainment workers, based on data from Base Tous Salariés (BTS) database. We will seek to measure the gender pay gap by taking into account the diversity of career paths. Some intermittent workers only work a few hours a year, while for others, intermittent work is their main activity.
Therefore, we will focus on those who work regularly in this sector in order to avoid excessive differences in employment conditions. We will use a decomposition model to determine whether there is still a phenomenon of wage discrimination against women in the performing arts and audiovisual sectors due to unobserved characteristics.
This project is related to the LIEPPS research groups Socio-fiscal policies and Discriminations and category-based policies.
