Description
This research project forms part of a sociology PhD thesis examining the pathways and experiences of accessing rights in various areas (housing, employment, healthcare, residence permits...) among people living in precarious circumstances in Paris. This project aims to contribute to the sociology of so-called ‘rights access schemes’ (public writers, France Service advisers...), whilst considering the effects of social policies in general on the people who use these schemes. The project aims to organize forum theatre workshops with people in precarious situations and facing complex administrative issues to gather their experiences regarding the processes of accessing rights or the difficulties they face in doing so. This method, which stems from popular education aims to establish a research process conducted with and for the people involved in the research. Indeed, these forum theatre workshops can serve as spaces for collective expression and the reclaiming of power by people who suffer multiple forms of domination, particularly those produced by public policies.
