In 2026, LIEPP welcomes six visiting professors

LIEPP is pleased to announce the international visiting professors for the year 2026, who will join the laboratory as part of the International Scholars in Policy Evaluation programme.

The International Scholars in Policy Evaluation Programme

As part of its 5th “International Scholars in Policy Evaluation” programme, the Laboratory for Interdisciplinary Evaluation of Public Policies (LIEPP) at Sciences Po welcomes each year international researchers for one-month research stays. The aim of this programme is to foster the incoming mobility of scholars specializing in public policy evaluation from universities and research institutions outside France, in order to enrich LIEPP’s scientific activities and strengthen its international collaborations.

The visiting programme is open to academics in permanent positions across all social science disciplines — including economics, sociology, political science, public health, education, management, psychology, public administration, and environmental studies. Selected projects fall within one or more of LIEPP’s research areas.

In the years following the laboratory’s creation (2011–2014), LIEPP multiplied invitations to strengthen its international connections, learn from leading experts in policy evaluation, and initiate collaborations. The focus was then on short research stays involving a large number of visiting scholars. Over time, LIEPP has gradually reduced the number of invitations while extending the duration of visits, allowing invited researchers to develop deeper collaborations with LIEPP members and contribute to ongoing research projects.

2026 Edition

For the 2026 edition, LIEPP received nearly thirty applications from universities and research institutes around the world. Applications were evaluated by the laboratory’s council based on the scientific quality of the proposals, their relevance to public policy evaluation, and their fit with LIEPP’s research areas.

The selected scholars represent a wide diversity of research fields, including social and employment policies, education policy, public health, environmental governance, and the study of inequalities and discrimination. Their expertise combines quantitative, qualitative, and comparative approaches, applied across diverse contexts — from Europe to North and Latin America. Through their work, they will contribute to advancing collective reflection on the tools and uses of policy evaluation in contrasting economic and social settings.

The visiting professors will stay at LIEPP for approximately one month, between January and December 2026. They will be hosted at LIEPP’s offices (1, place Saint-Thomas-d’Aquin, Paris 7th). Each visitor will present their research in a seminar open to the academic community and will prepare a working paper or policy brief to be published in LIEPP’s series.
