Biography

Louise Virole is an assistant professor in sociology at the Université Paris Cité in the Migration and Society Unit (URMIS). She is coordinator of the URMIS research group « Gender as a category of analysis", a member of the board of RT19 "Health, medicine, illness and disability" and fellow of the Convergences Migrations Institute (ICM). 

Louise Virole''s research focuses on health, gender and migration. Her current research focuses on issues of reproductive justice for minority populations. She is co-founder of the Groupe de Recherches sur la Justice Reproductive (GRJR), which is organising the international colloquium supported by LIEPP entitled « (In)reproductive justice: reproductive rights through gender, race and class" on 28 and 29 November 2024.

Louise Virole teaches sociology of migration, sociology of public action, sociology health and gender studies at the Université Paris Cité.
