Francesco Magno
Francesco Magno obtained his doctorate in contemporary history from the University of Trento in 2021, graduating cum laude. His thesis focused on the legislative and judicial integration of the former Habsburg and Tsarist territories into the Kingdom of Romania after the First World War, and was published as a monograph: Dagli imperi alla nazione. Eredità giuridiche asburgiche e zariste nella Grande Romania (Viella, Rome, 2023). Mr Magno was a research fellow at the New Europe College in Bucharest and assistant professor of Eastern European history at the University of Messina. Since 2022, supported by two postdoctoral fellowships at the University of Trento, he has been pursuing a new research trajectory in environmental history, focusing on the Danube River during the Cold War. His research contributes to wider discussions on environmental diplomacy and natural resource management in communist Eastern Europe. He has presented at leading international conferences and published in peer-reviewed journals on topics related to the history of twentieth-century Eastern Europe.Francesco Magno - MSCA scholarship recipient
