Simplification : pourquoi les agences d'Etat sont-elles dans le viseur ?
Since the start of Donald Trump's second term in office, criticism of state agencies and operators has been commonplace around the world. But what does this mean? Is this an unprecedented discourse on the part of politicians? What does it say about our relationship with the civil service?
Emilien Ruiz, assistant professor at Sciences Po (Centre d'histoire de Sciences Po) and on detachment from the University of Lille, provides some answers in the podcast La question du jour on France Culture.
His research focuses mainly on the relationship between knowledge and power since the end of the nineteenth century. From this perspective, he is interested in the transformations of the State and the civil service; in quantification practices at the frontiers between the public and private sectors; and in the circulation of statistical knowledge between the worlds of academia, economics and administration.
