Meeting with Pabel Muñoz López, Mayor of Quito

Pabel Muñoz López, Mayor of Quito, is a citizen committed to his city. He specializes in the sociology of development and is currently a doctoral student in Social Sciences at the University of Buenos Aires, Argentina.

He was twice a member of parliament for the province of Pichincha and Chairman of the Economic and Fiscal Regime Commission. He also served as Coordinator of the Parliamentary Group for the Eradication of Poverty and the Achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals.

He was a member of the Parliamentary Group for Women's Rights and the Parliamentary Group for the Guarantee of the Rights of Children and Adolescents.

He has also worked as a university lecturer and directed political and economic think tanks. He has also published academic articles on Ecuador's political and institutional process.

He has been a speaker at the United Nations High-Level Political Forum (USA), the Global Parliamentary Forum on Sustainable Development (Indonesia) and the Parliamentary Meeting for Tax Justice and Against Illicit Financial Flows (Argentina).
